My unbias (until you get to the part that says its biased) review on "House of 1000 Corpses(2003)"
For the squemish: Dont watch this movie! It is very gory and in some parts just flat out disgusting
For the religious: If you think about this movie and interpret it in the right way, you realize Dr Satan represents the devil. Everything that goes on represents hell. In parts characters screem "this is hell!" It is about satanic warship and devil fanatics. It is a very strange and eerie movie.
For the Christian religious fanatics: Dont watch this movie! Go back home and hug your bible tighly, because if you were to watch this movie you might believe that it would possess you because of the insane paradigm you are in.
For the blind: You cant even see the movie, so dont watch it, there is no point to.
For the kids: It really depends the level of maturity, but I would say noone under 15, even if you are one of those parents that lets their kids watch any movie. If you are one of those parents that are so crazy that they think a 13yr old can only watch pg13 or less, you might even want to wait until your offspring are 21yrs of age to watch this movie. (By the way, please dont watch this WITH your kids, it will be a very awkward hour and a half)
For the elderly: Unless you are very unique and like blood and gore and complete insanity, this might just give you a heart attack.
For the women: I can almost guaranty that 99% of women (99.9999999% if lesbian) will not like this movie, because they will think it repulsive, cruel, and insensetive.
For the gothic/sadistic freaks: Watch this movie, especially if your into blood and gore. Also, your gothic/sadistic insanity may agree with this movie's insanity and it will be very enjoing for you.
More you should know: There are very bizarre sceens/ideas. For instance: there is this woman who is part of the killer family (representing satan and his minions) who finds it pleasurable to mutilate people's bodies as she kills them, all the while rubbing herself on their dying/dead bodies, getting more and more arroused as she does it. Another example is the so called Dr Satan himself opperates on his victims supposivly attempting to make super humans (i think they mean zombies by this) out of his victims. In one scene it shows him operating on one of his victims with crude tools and a bloody mess. If you've actually read through all this without pressing the "Back" button, I think you should watch it, you might enjoy it. Also, the blood/gore/killing/torture is very realistic and well done.
My opinion (biased): I liked it. I enjoy watching a good gory movie every once in a while. I also enjoyed thinking about possible meanings to different things (even though if you see it you may think it was just a bunch of sensless killing). Even if it was just a bunch of sensless killing, I still enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the sheer insanity of it all. And, last but not least, I enjoyed all the creative and origianal camera angles and methods of photography. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the plot is basically the plot of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
