In ways, this was a good movie, in ways it fit into the series but in ways it didn't. I'd call this the Halloween III:Season of the Witch part of the Friday series. It was more about Tommy Jarvis, the one who defeated him in part 4. Jason's not in it unfortunately. Instead, you have a copy-cat Jason creating the same bloodshed. This movie probably had the most victims next Part 9. All dumb and unlikeable characters who got killed too. One of the most violent and bloody of the series. The Jason copy-cat practically wiped out the whole town by the end of the movie, even the ***** who brought Tommy to the institution in the beginning. But the movie was a slasher, not recommended for Jason and true Friday fans. Tommy was a useless pothetic piece of sh** for most of the movie. In comparison to the rest of the series, the best part 5 had to offer was Tommy's dreams and hallucinations of the real Jason, especially the last scene in the movie. The end of part 5 brought hope to real Friday fans that Jason is coming back for his revenge, esp. on Tommy. It built up alot to make part 6 really spectacular. |
