I have not seen the original film which lacks this recut's smarmy narration and is no doubt much improved by its absence. The motive of Dementia is to make a viewpoint of insanity and pull the viewer into it. Narration explains what is going on removing any sense of such occupation. There are some nice shots and effects but things drag toward the end. I don't know if more film would be an improvement but I'd like to see in the original form. |
