Pretty bad compared to scary movies nowadays...

In black and white with Deborah Kerr. Lots of loopholes, but probably a decent movie for children that aren't too young. Special effects are few, and sound effects are many. Melodramatic acting, probably typical of that time period--- lots of dramatic facial and vocal expressions. The two children she watches after are extremely irritating, to say the least. The ending will disappoint anyone hoping it to be worth waiting for.
So much better in this genre are movies such as Sixth Sense, The Exorcist, and Red Dragon. (If you have a weak stomach such as I do, though, pass up The Exorcist.)
But if you insist on sitting through this laborious movie, you can't say I didn't warn you. |
