"The Brother From Another Planet" is a memorable film from the early 1980s that showcases what independent films can do for an audience. This film from John Sayles, is a great film to watch and enjoy. He would later make other films like "Passion Fish" and "Sunshine State", but "Brother" is his greatest achievement. There is so many information, I don't know where to begin. I guess I'll start off with the story.
"The Brother From Another Planet" opened on September 7, 1984, and it showcases an alien who is given the name of The Brother when he lands in Harlem. He soon helps people with his power, which is to fix things with his hands. The Brother soon gets caught in confusion from the people around him. Meanwhile, two men in black try to get him. No, they are not Will Smith an Tommy Lee Jones. We soon discover that they are aliens as well, but sent to kill The Brother. In the end, The Brother and some of his alien friends get rid of the other aliens, and The Brother lives on his life in Harlem.
See this film! This is a great movie from John Sayles, who plays one of the men in black, delivers great performances from the 80s. This movie will astound you, make you laugh, and move you when you see it. It will make The Brother happy. |
