The reason Wishmaster wasn't that great was because it didn't have fun with the story it was given. This movie on the other hand does. It expands the creativity level to even create some comedy moments.
Though, it is still not a masterpiece and is not likely to ever be, it is pretty fun to watch. It has a better story. The actors sill suck though. Overall it does manage to have a campy light hearted attitude. Nothing is meant to be taken seriously. Watch it with an open mind and you should enjoy it.
