My main problem with this film is the story. They take the Chistian idea of an Apocolyptic confrontation between Heavenly and Earthly forces as descrbed in Revelations and mix it up with a strange far East mysticism that makes little sense. Kamui, who is a strange angelic being (I couldn't decide if he was supposed to be human), has to decide whether or not the Earth and humanity will survive the coming confrontation. He is divided between the Dragons of Heaven and Dragons of Earth who each have roles to paly in this coming battle. The Earth Dragons want to see the world desrtoyed along with humanity so the Earth can be made anew. The Heavenly Dragons want to see the Earth and humanity saved so they can guided back from the brink of darkness. Kamui is the deciding factor in the battle between these two factions. One scene depicts of this movie shows a young woman in a vision being executed as she is tied to a structure that looks likes a cross. I believe in many ways this scene mocks the Crucifiction and that offended me greatly as I was raised as a Christian. This movie had beautiful animation and visuals but the accompanying story disturbed me greatly.
