'Bamboozled' is a weird film. I somewhat get the point Spike was trying to make, but I personally think he went the wrong way about making it. I think he tried to hard to be controversial. He could have made his point in a much better way, but instead, he went this route. It looks very, very low-budget, something someone in film school could have made. Some parts were kind of intresting, but not intresting enough to save the film. The best part was at the end, with the racial sterotype montage. As a whole, 'Bamboozled' is borderline stupid, but only borderline stupid...I give Spike credit for trying to make a point that probably needed to be made, but like I said, he just went the wrong route in making it. It didn't have to be so extreme. |
