There are so many words that can be used to describe probably one of the most controversial movies in history. Kate Winslet has proven time and time again that she is an extremely talented actress and I believe she may be the actress to pass up Meryle Streep with Oscar nominations. Geoferry Rush delivers a wonderfully naughty performance as the Marquis himself (and captures the essance of his insanity). Joaquin Phoenix also gives his 2nd oscar worthy performance as the head of the asylem. This movie is probably one of the most interesting films in history. The performances are PERFECT from Winslet, Caine, Rush, and Phoenix and this is definately going to be a movie never to forget! |
