Although this movie has amoral themes, gratutious sex, innuendo, and sexual diologue; if you can stomache it, it is worth seeing. The sheer premise itself is quite disturbing, but it has a sorts of irrestible El Crimen de Padre Amaro/The Scarlet Letter themes such as lust, sin, obession, love, and regret; are immpossible to ignore. I was constantly hitting mute and covering my eyes, but such is the price to pay in a film of this sort. For people who enjoy happy, and well...normal movies should steer clear of this film. Yet those who enjoy movies such as El Crimen de Padre Amaro, Apt Pupil, and The Talented Mr. Ripley; will find this movie to be shocking, unscrupulous, and highly evocative. |
