Almost Famous is probably one of the best movies of all-time. The story was so in to detail, I forgot it was a movie at times. Kate Hudson gives one of the best performances I have ever seen. Frances McDormand is outstanding as Patrick Fugit's (also great) mother. She played it so well. But Kate Hudson remains the scene-stealer. Other outstanding performances were Philip Seymour Hoffman (playing Fugit's mentor Lester Bangs), Zooey Deschanel (Fugit's rebellious sister), Bijou Phillips (very brief role as a groupie but I thought she lit up the screen), Billy Crudup (Stillwater's lead guitarist), and Jason Lee (Lead vocalist). Heck, the whole cast is great. Anna Paquin could of just had more screen time and she wouldn't of been a blink-and-miss role. All and all, thank you Cameron Crowe for making this movie! It changed my life and gaver me a different perspective on Music. |
