The Silence of the Lambs is one of the best films of the 90's and one one of the best thrillers of all time. The film is both tragic and horrifying. From the first shot of Hannibal Lecter, we see one of the most compelling characters in recent history.Lecter not only plays with our fears, but he plays with our minds. Ms. Sterling is also a compelling character, as she attempts to learn information from Dr. Hannibal Lecter while she fights with her own demons. I realized how confident Jonathan Demme was in his scenes shooting Dr. Hannibal. He has complete confidence that we will receive the affect of Hannibal simply by watching and listening to him. He was right. Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster win very deserving Oscars for their performances, especially Hopkins. |
