much like Aranofsy's previous "PI" this is not a film that can be simply put into a category. I've noticed one thing for sure in most of these user reviews however; quite often, if a reviewer finds a film disturbing then they automatically classify it as a "bad" film. Or if it's different, then its said on a film student could enjoy it (being a film student...granted). But What Aranofsky accomplishes here is what every good flim maker attempts to accomplish from the onset - draw you into the story with the visuals, acting and so on, and make you feel for the characters, getting absored in the movie for however long it takes. That being said, this film is not for the person who wants their popcorn and soda and to leave happy. It's haunting and meant to be that way. Great performances by all the actors in this film. |
