Ran is stunning peice of cinema, perfect from the opening sequences to the tragic ending. I was fortunate to see this movie at a young age and practically all other movies that came after were compared to this film. Most other films failed to elict the same sense of humor, dread, sadness, and loss that this one extracted from me, through it's brilliant visuals and powerful storyline. Many of my friends have said that this movie ruined all other films for me. I disagree. I just now hold movies to a higher standard, and if even every movie failed to reach it, I rest comfortably knowing that I have found the perfect one. |
