After a friend suggested I watch Seven Samurai (also by Kurosawa) I was left amazed by it. I had to watch Ran to see what else Kurosawa has created. This movie brings you in so many different directions, all of which come full circle at the end. Visually, it is an epic acheivement with Kurosawa never settling for the easy shot. Even though I had to rely on the subtitles (audio is only in Japanese) I never felt like I couldn't follow along thanks to the great acting and directing. Settle down for this one and enjoy. |
