The movie was stunning. It was one of the best I had seen in a while. Unlike most people that have seen this movie, however, I have read the book that it was based on. Sofia Coppola didn't fail to make an outstanding movie, but she forgot a few very important details from the book in the movie. The ending, for one thing, is actually very different (not the outcome, but just how long it takes to get to it.) I felt that this movie portrayed some of the extreme aspects of what it is like to be a teenage girl, but keep in mind that the book on which it is based was written by a man. |
