A little humor, a little drama (without melodrama), and a lot of realism. I felt like I was watching a slice of someone's life, though the characters and relationships lacked the meloncholy drag that often characterize these films. The balance between plot-driving conflict and honest interaction between characters was exceptionally well done, and Laura Linney was perfect - a good balance of hipocrasy and amiability. Overall a very good film. |
