This is a good film. Following the Scream Trilogy, Final Destination keeps up the intelligence, wit and excitement of this genre of comic teen horror.
Outrageous deaths and exciting set pieces accompanied with witty dialogue make this movie a hugely enjoyable popcorn flick.
Briefly; our main protaganist having survived an air disaster {and inadvertably saving several others at the same time} due to a vision, finds himself on the run from The Angel Of Death and the FBI {I kid you not!!}. And so there is a race against time to outwit Death as it picks of the surviors one at a time and avoid the FBI who are very suspicious of our hero's 'vision' and the rising body count of those connnected to him.
Ok i admit the premise is silly...and there are so many holes in the script, it still manages to be very entertaining.
Compared to the dreadful sequel Final Destination 2 {which really was a terribly bad and grotesquely nasty 'straight to video' type film that shouldnt have gotten a cinema release} this film shows how a slightly tounge n cheek horror movie should be made.
The writers behind the X Files have made a film that is brutal and exciting and will leave you hanging off the edge of your seat literally right up until the end credits. {The last 5 minutes was amazing}
Good Stuff!!!...but please please avoid the sequel. |
