I can't be too picky. It's one of my favorite animated movies I've seen so far. Just lovely, enormously entertaining throughout, and smashingly funny. Elton John's soundtrack really makes the movie even better, and I just can't decide which song is my favorite, they're all so dang good.
When I saw the previews for this movie, I quite thought that the story would be mainly about their JOURNEY to El Dorado, (hence the title), so I was left a surprise there. (Turns out their "Road to El Dorado" was made up mainly of just one brilliant song. :) Whodathunkik, eh?)
My mom once pointed out that the whole scene with the stone jaguar was unecessary, unconnected, and was just too out-of-the-blue (no pun intended, those who've seen this movie). And perhaps it is. But if you look past that, you can just enjoy it for the exciting step in Toulio's and Miguel's new adventure. I, being such the boy that I am sometimes, thought it was pretty cool, myself :).
I don't think that animated movies such as this should really be so thouroughly scrutinized and critized to an extreme amount. It's just a fun, family, funny film that's hard not to enjoy, which I hope will be the case for those of you yet to see it. Love U all! :) |
