Passion of Pointlessness...
by Stephanie (movies profile)

As a chick, the only reason I watched this was b/c of William Fichtner. The original French film is in all probablity of better quality. Moore's performance is abysmal (as well as unbelieveable), Skarsgaard is intense, and Fichnter steals every scene from Moore (but the producers may have been on crack to make him lose THAT much weight). The story is predictable and you lose interest quickly in everyone and everything, because the whole premise is not realistic. The soundtrack was the only highlight giving it a Ridley Scott/Jim Henson "fantasy film" feeling. Thank God for the Brooklyn Public Library, because I would have demanded my money back from Blockbuster and put it towards a Blaze novel for mindless sexual drivel. |
