Being John Malkovich is the 2nd best film of 1999,
and definetely the most orginal film of the year. it's hard to explain, but let me just give you the
basic lowdown of the film. Eccentric but failing puppeteer Craig Schwartz finds a portal in to John Malkovich's mind, and he and his wife Lotte (Diaz) and his friend that he's in love with Maxine (Keener) decide to profit their findings. it's a very good movie, but ultimetely the strangest that I have ever seen. Kaufman's script is excellent, Jonze's direction is top-notch, and Cusack, Keener, Diaz, and Malkovich himself all give excellent performances. The moment I saw the opening sequence with the puppets, I knew that I was going to love this very strange film!
