James Fenimore Cooper's novel comes to life in this film.It is about The French and Indian War in the year 1757.Daniel Day-Lewis plays Nathaniel Poe/Hawkeye.Madeleine Stowe plays Cora Munro.Russel Means plays Chingachgook.West Studi plays Magua.The entire cast does a wonderful job.The director Michael Mann brings this American classic to life though music,forest locations,costumes and weapons.One of the best scences is the siege of Fort William Henry.It shows siege warfare of the 18th century.It is a very nice way to learn about American History. |
