Contrary to what critics and Warren Commission apologists try to tell us, Oliver Stone's JFK does NOT imply that there was a "grand conspiracy" behind the murder of President Kennedy. It does imply, however, that there WAS a conspiracy--a plot set up by a compact cabal of right-wing extremists upset at what Kennedy had done as President and what he might have done if he had lived. Stone assembles this into an epic movie that, because it totally debunks the government's "version", continues to incite and infuriate even to this day. |
