This 1925 film is the original and BEST version of The Phantom of the Opera, largely thanks to Lon Chaney Sr. (The Phantom) and the exquisite direction, the rotten stinking catacombs beneath the city, and the eerie tone of this very fine film. Probably one of the finest and most engaging silent movies ever made, give this one a try, kids, and see how they used to make movies once upon a time... |
