There's really not much for me to say regarding this movie. If you've seen it, you already know how good it is. I've always loved classic movies, but I generally don't like SILENT movies (I find the acting repulsive and over-done). This movie was different for me, though. I'm sure some of my opinion is due to the fact that I am a HUGE Phantom of the Opera fan (enough to be called a "phan") - but this movie was truly well done. Lon Chaney is a hollywood legend and he potrayed the Phantom better than most actors I've seen. His makeup (which, he of course, did himself) was simply AMAZING given when this was made. Also, the story was the closest to the original novel as I've ever seen in a PTO movie.
All in all, GREAT MUST-OWN for any movie lover OR Phantom fan!! |
