Okay. Okay. Let me say first. This is absolutely the most awful movie I have ever seen in my life. They screwed up the story line so much (They take Christine back in time. Hello, mr. screenwriter, ARE YOU ON CRACK?!) And the mutilating of Erik's fantastically diverse, beautiful, complex character into a horny, crazed serial killer who skins his victims made me sick. I couldn't decide if the makers of the movie were actually trying to be serious, and I even was slightly desturbed that the people who made that movie thought they could make money off this movie. It wasn't even a good horror movie. When the cliched line "Heeeeelllp Meeeee" is croaked out by the skinless corpse found in Carlotta's closet, I just gave up. And all the other predictable trite things the "phantom" said before he murdered his victims made me laugh. And, uh. . . who the hell is Richard? They deleted Raoul, A MAJOR CHARACTER FOR GODS SAKE and turned him into "Richard". Who, in the climax was stabbed in the side with a candalabra and set on fire. I don't think I have to continue. You get the gist, eh? |
