One of the lamer additions to the Amityville movie
by Daniel (movies profile) Nov 13, 2006
This is a direct-to-video sequel to the made-for-TV Amityville 4. In this movie we've got an even sillier plot than the previous one with the evil escaping in a lamp. With its poor directing, acting, and story, it manages to be one of the lesser of the Amityville movies.

The story this time is about a group of dumbass friends that purchase an old home in the Amityville area and attempt to fix it up. The house is not only different, but so is the plot and its connection to any previous Amityville films. In this flick the spirit(s) haunting the home have to do with a priest that was murdered there when it was a church? *shrugs*. We're then given a lot of silly acting and many failed attempts to "scare" the audience. Among the friends is what a coincidence, a girl who has "psychic" abilities and senses something strange brewing within the home.

The movie lacking in many aspects -- there are barely any deaths and not a whole lot going on plot or action-wise. With its plot-holes galore, lack of scares, and various other faults, why a 4-rating and nothing less? Well there were moments where I wasn't entirely bored, and it's not as horrible as other flicks I've seen.

OVERALL

One of the lamer additions to the Amityville movies. No connection with the Amityville home or any of the previous films. Don't bother.
