The sweetest love story ever filmed. Two unlikely characters- both alone in Africa, unloved, past their prime, with huge flaws- that fall in LOVE. Not the usual hollywood passion- not even terribly sexual- just true love. My favorite scene is when "Charley" (Humphrey Bogart) imitates the monkeys and hippos around him for the amusement of ("Rose") because it is so easy for Bogart to be cool and nonchalant but to see Bogart being goofy?? It is a gem. |
