If not for Flynn this would be just another "Robbin Hood" film...it is the one that set the bar. He is charming and very skilled with his sword and to think that Cagney was to play the part. That doesn't seem right.
The sword play is very good, full of both action and dramatic flare with some funny lines that are so cliche they make you roll your eyes at times.
All in all a good film that should be compared to the films of the times and not measured against modern action films. |
