Director James Cameron has to be one of the most imaginative and inspiring Sci-fi/Action director and screenwriter. This film is visually amazing even though it was made the year I was born. The pure creativity of this film makes a true Sci-Fi worth remembering.
The movie is about a driller on an oil rig deep in the Pacific Ocean whom is having a very painful marraige and is stranded deep beneath the waters by an uknown force. The discovery in which they make very well might just be true since we have discovered only 2% of the world's living species. And it is very realistic as well. The drama mix adds well to the journey in which they take to keep the civilization safe and get themselves out of the deep, dark, cold depths of the earth.
Ed Harris does his usual very good acting and James Cameron's directing matches it. It deserved Academy Awards for Visual-Effects and Sound. The soundtrack is graceful as well. Highly underrated movie...
