Excellent portrayal of modern yellow journalism

ABSENCE OF MALICE is a portrayal of modern journalism that is still valid in today's world.
Sally Field is excellent as the reporter and Paul Newman as the victim of Field's innuendo and smear campaign who manages to use that to his own advantage in a final twist that gets him his revenge.
This movie is a good study of how today's so-called journalist execute their "craft". This movie will give you a good understanding of how far journalistic standards have fallen and of how pathetic most of what passes for journalistic skill has become. |
