The ending for a 1957 movie was fitting...FEELS GOOD / Happy Days. Maybe truer to Elmore's story but not nearly as compelling as the 2007 movie.
Ford's good/bad guy doesn't quite make it. VanHeflin is very good as the flawed rancher/father/husband.
Mediocre at best...
