Plot: Lau Ching Wan and Leon Lai are both on top of the triad ranking and extremely loyal, they are friends but unfortunately there boss are in a gang war at each other. This mean one of them will kill each other. Skipping to the middle, there bosses are force to be together, at a time when Leon Lai and Lau Ching Wan are both badly hurt. This mean they are useless to the triad and are left behind. Sadden by the unloyality and other things from their boss they seek revenge.
The movie provided a very interesting plot, and really exercises your emotion. The movie was saddening and dark, it really depressing what happen to Lau Ching Wan, Leon Lai and their girlfriends. The gun battle was excellently shot (but still not has good has John Woo action) and the setting is amazing good. The acting from Leon Lai and Lau Ching Wan was perfect, especially Lau Ching Wan. He looks in pain and very sad but his ambition to kill his boss was still visible. There was something I don’t like about this movie, it seems like Lau Ching Wan and Leon Lai doing the same thing in every move. It get tiresome after there similar parallel life, also how their bosses become friend again kind of suck and it make no sense why there boss ignore there best man.
This movie is excellently made, and very entertaining. This movie is similar to other Milky Way film (like The Longest Nite and The Mission). Despite some plot hole, this movie is all round very good and the ending is brilliantly put. |
