You might agree or not with what "Che" did in his life. Most people would agree with his goals but less would agree with his means. However, this movie does not debate any of that. It is only showing us the amazing transformation that a medical student went through when he saw and felt, pain, suffering, and injustice. It's a story about human life, a brilliantly told story about a man wanting justice, not for him but for the needed ones, the poor. Rolando de la Serna's performarnce is brilliant, Oscar worthy.
Unfortunately since this movie represents so many countries (ironic, that's what Che wanted, a unified continent!), it is not clear how it can enter in the race for Oscars (yes, not just one). The director is Brasilian, the main actor Mexican, the supporting actor is from Argentina, Robert Redford, the producer, is American, then a Puerto Rican and a French complete the main team. And, the movie was filmed in Argentina, Chile and Peru. |
