I believe that The Prince of Egypt is probably one of the most accomplished animated films to-date. The story is a sort of a twist on a classic which shows the relationship between Moses and his brother, unlike any other moses film. So you couldn't even begin to compare it with any other moses film, such as the well known Ten Commandments. The movie is original (yes, you can make a somewhat original biblical movie). One of the things I liked the most about this film is the visual aspect. This movie is very colorful and very beautifully and uniquely drawn. The sequence where Moses parts the Red Sea is powerful and astounding. I especially like how you could see the whales and the fish through the water when lightening would flash. Giving us even more reason to love the movie is the score, composed artfully by Hans Zimmer. So without any further embellishing, I'll just say I really enjoyed this film. I would recommend it to animated film fans, or anyone who enjoys great films, period. |
