With catchy tunes (I've been humming prepare ye the way of the lord in math for the past week) and beautiful visuals, if sometimes slightly overloading, this was one of the best musicals i have seen in a while, including the ones my best friend have been in that i have seen.
But the most wonderful part is the storyline, my father is a pastor, so i have been hearing these storys since i was 2 or 3, but Godspell managed to make them fresh and new, not something stuffy i could mouth the words to in my sleep. I loved most all of it, but, they never go into the resurrection, which was slightly odd, and made me feel a little uncomfortable.
I know how the story ends, but, how can people who don't know the story and watch this musical really get the message?
on the whole, this was an excellent film production, and i would be very willing to see it again. |
