Your example of an HK action flick of this era.

Who is the good guy? Who is the bad guy? Does it really matter? The lines are very muddled in this movie, and that's a good thing. You are never quite sure where the movie is going, just that the hero is Danny Lee, and he is relatively cleaner than the other HK police. The only ultra good police officers are the internal affairs, and they are annoying in this movie. Never slow, this movie has action throughout. I must admit that I will have to watch the beginning one more time because I don't quite get the tie in. The beginning seems like the set up for the prequel of the movie, in which the movie spends most of its time. With HK movies, you have to watch them twice just to appreciate the stunt work any way. |
