A sweeping panorama of the American west
by Ron Hard C (movies profile)
Nov 6, 2004
This is one of the finest and most memorable mini-series ever made. Actors like Lynn Redgrave, Timothy Dalton, Gregory Harrison, Robert Conrad, and others, found themselves in probably the best drama of their lives and often transcended any work they had done in the past. From the writing, the direction, the overall production, including one of the most gorgeous soundtracks ever composed, Centennial is a standard by all such mini-series should be measured against This is truly thrilling and I never tire of watching it. A suggestion: Watch Lynn Redgrave progress from a shy and introverted immigrant from Britain to become the heart of one of the greatest ranches in the American West. |
