Great Story ruined by inaccuracies

The life of steve prefontaine is one that everyone should know about. A kid from coos bay who struggled through adversites and became one of the best distance runners in the world in the mid 1970's. However, this movie details his life inaccuratley throughout the movie to help achieve a "hollywood" ending. Being an avid runner, I have researched the life of prefontaine. This movie did a poor job of re-inacting the little things (ex. his real gf's name was Mary, not Nancy). If you want to learn the true life of Steve Prefontaine, I would suggest renting "Without Limits". It's a great film with better acting, direction, visuals, and story. |
