The original film of The Stepford Wives didn't really appeal to me until I heard of the recent remake. I knew of the use of the term Stepford Wife was widely a pop culture gimmick. I had to check it out.
Certainly a product of it's time, I do have to admit while rather slow paced, it was down right freaky. By the end, I really believed in the character of Joanna Eberhard and was shocked by the ending. Not much to say about the acting ability, but Paula Prentiss really stood out in my book.
Now with having seen the original, I had a feeling the remake would add a few interesting twists. To find out what I think, check my review for the remake! |
