the most realistic romantic comedies-not cliched

The most underated romatic comedy. If you don't enjoy the usual "chick flick" romantic comedies which feature the cliched happy endings, then you may like this movie. Cause this movies is so realistic and uncliched as you can get. It protrays the romantic relationships of 2 brothers and is not boy meets girl it is guy and girl already married and the other boy meets girl and gets married right at the beginning. 'She's the One' stars Edward Burns (who also write, directed and produced the film and is easy on the eyes- very cute all round)as Mickely the oldest brother and Michael McGlove as Francis "Frannie" and their love/hate sibling rivalry relationship of mid-20 soemthings is depicted. Along with the bro's relationship, you see how they relate to women. Mickey is a poor cab driver who one day at work driving his cab picks up a beatuful woman on her way to the airport to attend her sisters wedding, they start flirting and she asks him to drive her to her sisters wedding across the country in his cab. They "fall in love" along the way and got married on the spur of th emoment at her sisters wedding reception-! Then there is Frannie the more "suceesful" wall street type, who the boys father call's him Mickey's "sister" cause he is very "metrosexual" as they call these types of guys who like to look after themselves- appearnces that is who is married to yet again a beautiful wife- played by Jennifer aniston. Jennifer's charachter- i forget her name sorry- wonders why she and her husband haven't had sex in months - so she keeps hassaling about it throughout the movie. Little does she know Frannie is cheating on her with his brother's ex-girlfirend Heather (the as lovely as ever -Cameron Diaz)which oly comliactes things more between both Frannie and mickey and Frannie and his wife. So of course the evolution of all these relationships can only spell chaos and drama- plys witty lines and wel defined charachters make this the must see film and one of the most underated and understated films. Not your usual romantic comedy.
Mickey's wife didn't tell him ways taht she had a pplied to Uni med school in Paris so they might be moving. Complication. How well does Micheky and hsi wife really know each other?
Does Mickey end up with his month year marriage ending or do they keep it togetehr despite their love at first sight, hastful shot gun wedding? Does Frannie end hsi wife break up or does he end up with heather? You don't know till the ending. You don't get an inkling of what to expect unlike other romantic comedies.
This movie will probably be enjoyed by anoyone - both chick flick lovers and chick flick haters. If you have seen "Perfect opposites" starring Piper Perabo and Martin Henderson- you will probbaly like this- that movies was also a relaistic romantic comedy where there is not your perfect fairytale happy ending. See it with your boyfirend or your borhter or sister or parent- has the whole audience covered- as it covers the comeptiitve relationship of 2 brothers,, their rleationship with their father and their wives. So get down to your local Blockbuster or video store and rent it. I own a copy and can't wait to watch it again. Love it. |
