Totally bashed by critics. Disowned by the public. The Cable Guy got the cold shoulder from every direction, which are represented in its poor box office showing. And I do not understand why. If not my favorite Jim Carrey, its in the top 3, competing with Dumb and Dumber, and The Truman Show. The Cable Guy showed a different side of Carrey, in which he didnt have to talk out of his butt cheeks or rely on fart jokes to win over audiences. It is incredibly witty, with numerous references to cult classic television. Carrey puts himself out there, like he had never before, I beg you to give this movie a chance, go out and see it. |
