Film adaptation of the 1811 novel by English born novelist Jane Austin whose tale forecast the lifestyles of 19-century England. The film lead actress Emma Thompson, will also decisively give an accurate rendition of the adapted screenplay, she will therefore receive the Academy, Golden Globe and The Los Angles Film Critics Awards for her screenplay. Taiwanese director Ang Lee whose precise direction earn him the Berlin Film Festival Golden Berlin Bear and the New York Film Critics award for his well placed direction. A very strong performing cast which includes Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Hugh Grant and Kate Winslet who will go on to win a Screen Actors Guild Award for her Supporting Role. Sense and Sensibility won the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture [Drama]. |
