The most powerful film I've seen ages!

I was fully prepared to hate this movie, thinking it would be another oversimplified Hollywood attack on the death penalty. As it turned out, the film didn't oversimplify anything, portraying both sides of the issue in powerful, heart-wrenching force. Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon are at their absolute best. For that matter, all the characters are absolutely believable which only adds to the realism and forces you to confront the tragic set of circumstances, regardless of where you stand on capital punishment. This is the most moving and powerful film I have seen in a long, long time. |
