A film that could stand with Dances with Wolves and Unforgiven. Mel Gibson's first directoral debute, is amazing. The editing unnoticeable and the story is worthy of multiple oscars. This film is about, a man named,William Wallace,who only wants to live in peace. But when England invades his country of Scotland, he watches his country turn to turmoil and despair. The king of England, nicknamed "Long Shanks" is a rutheless man (only when it involes the business of Scotland) and treats Scotland with disgust.
Anyway, one day William gets secretly married to a woman. Why the secret you may ask? Well William had been to a wedding and saw the English soldiers rape the wife, on her wedding day. The day after William got married, his wife was killed by a soldier. That's when William snaps and decides to rebel against England. This movie is a four star masterpiece. |
