A good "Teen" Love Story

This move was a significant landmark in Lesbian film-making. It brings a Teenage First Love Story (Which just happens to be Lesbian) to the screen. Its not some really intricate, complicated movie. What you see is what you get. I liked this movie because we could see a movie just like this about 2 straight teenagers. Often, Gay/Lesbian movies have a stigma that suggests that Gay/Lesbians are somehow different then others. This story enforces the fact that indeed, that gay/lesbians fall in love just like everyone else. I have seen several "teenage" Lesbian movies, but this is my favorite because it does remind me of my first "girl friend" I had in High School. The stoty is good, not great. The strength of this movie is Laurel Holloman as Randy Dean. For her first acting movie role, she is very believable as an out of place teen that knows herself well. The direction is crisp, as the scenes flow into one another and humor is well placed. Visuals were nothing special, but did not need to be. This movie isn't for those that are looking for good Adult Lesbian love, but it can remind us of our own angst in our teens.
