"Little Odessa" is an impressive film. When i read about it, a review said it was in the tradition of 'Goodfellas'. This movie probably has more in common with 'Liberty Heights' and even 'Ash Wednesday' but, anyhow, it's a good movie. Tim Roth, as always, does an excellent job in this role. He's estranged from his family but his brother (played by Edward Furlong in another effective performance) manages to get in touch with him through a friend. Family conflicts ensue and the two brothers try to stand together through the quarrels with their father and the illness of their mother. There is suspense and a violent showdown at the end. Fans of Roth and Furlong should take note. Was better than I expected. Roth is very dangerous in this one! |
