Through the mist of the movie industry that is plauged by monumental failure, disgracful comedies and laughable action flicks, there is light at the far end of the tunnel.
In the height of the Bronx, New York, the daily struggle for survival is hard on all generations, partically for one young impressional girl, who has yet to discover her true calling and potential.
When issues with drug dealing DEA officers fall through for her neglegent father, the entire family feels the pain. Litterally. Psychotic, crooked cop Gary Oldman deals his justice as casually as always.
Surviving the ordeal with help from italian neighbour and professional hitman, Leon, Matilda is given a second chance at life, and takes the oppurtunity to learn the trade and to professionally waste New York scum.
With oscar-bound acting from all roles, partically from the very young Natalie Portman, Leon brilliantlly portray's a tale of friendship and love under the most impossiblly unexpected circumstances.
Scenes of extreme violence and abusive language follow, however should not be used as a possible excuse for missing this production.
