Easily the best movie Tim Burton has made and owns a spot on my all time top 100. This is the movie that Johnny Depp should have received his first Oscar nomination for, his best and most humorous work to date. It's my opinion that nobody but Burton could have made this film, his style fits like the story like a glove and the great supporting cast featuring Bill Murray, Sarah Jessica Parker and especially Martin Landau are the icing on the cake. What a great idea to make Ed Wood in black and white, the only other Burton flick that compares at all in my opinion is Sleepy Hollow but it is a distant second. Some critics have said that Big Fish is Burton's masterpiece, not at all, this is. |
