It's too bad Disney ruined it with bad sequels

While not the best animated film that Disney has made (that honor goes to Beauty and the beast) The Lion King is indeed a wonderful animated feature that has a lot of things going on for it.
The animation for example is maginficent, not as good as Beauty and the Beast, but it's truly a sight to behold.
The voice acting is fantastic and completely vital to teh story, it never takes a seat back from the animation; even the songs are great.
The story is handled pretty well and its not dumbed down, it is simple enough for kids to understand, and interesting enough for adults to enjoy.
Unfortunately, Disney has lessened the impact of this film by releasing two really inferior sequels that only show us that Disney is just trying to milk the good name of this movie for all its worth. That's sad.
Overall:
Excellent movie (It even manages to save itself from being a copy of Japanese legend Osamu Tezuka's Kimba the white lion) That delivers an outstanding piece of animation everybody should experience. |
